At SABBATINI & TURCO, we are constantly challenging ourselves to do more for our customers and the world we share. We carefully consider the design, manufacturing process and material of each model so that they have more impact on your wardrobe and less impact on the environment.
CO2 compensation
We are in a climate emergency and are keen to reduce our CO2 emissions. We recognize the contradiction between the current fashion industry, which produces for consumption, and the concept of sustainability. But bags are a daily necessity and we believe fashion can also be a force for good and a vehicle for change.
We don’t know if fashion will ever be sustainable, but we try to do better by designing better systems and being as responsible as possible every day. Our ambition is to create a fashion accessories brand that maintains a more conscious pace and process and does no harm when it is produced or when it is consumed.
We are committed to making better and more responsible choices throughout our supply chain and minimizing our social and environmental impact.
We are focusing on monitoring the CO2 footprint along our supply chain. A lot of complex math is involved in offsetting carbon emissions: We take into account yearly business operations data and things like weight, distance traveled and type of load when calculating emissions. We partner with a third party to offset the carbon emissions of manufacturing and shipping our bags by supporting energy efficiency, forestry, or clean energy projects that offset the same (or more) amount of carbon emissions released into the atmosphere, and we are imposing a carbon tax ourselves. We know we’re not saving the planet by investing in carbon offsets, but we’re reducing the overall amount of carbon we’re emitting, and if more people were doing it too, it would make our climate goals that much easier to achieve. Look how many trees we have planted Here.
Excessive consumption
We believe that one of the biggest problems in the fashion industry is overconsumption. SABBATINI & TURCO encourages people to buy less and choose better. We aspire to simplify women’s wardrobes, helping them to consider what they really need and eliminate excesses. In addition to representing the initials of the surnames Sabbatini & Turco, S&T derives from: essenty = essential.
SABBATINI & TURCO is a permanent collection of uncompromising pieces, timeless classics made to last. Moving away from traditional seasons and not being focused on the fashion calendar allows us to take as much time as we need to when designing our shoes to ensure lasting appeal. With a permanent collection, there is no limit to the resources we can invest in our projects. So we go slow, developing, testing and releasing one key model at a time.
Our intention is for our bags to hold their value and for customers to have a long-term relationship with them, rather than just a quick fling. Our definition of progress is pared-down wardrobes, built on those wardrobe staples that will stand the test of time.
Our business model revolves around small batch production and on-demand manufacturing processes. Manufacturing on demand allows us to accurately calculate demand so we produce only what we sell, minimizing waste and overproduction. This also means that you have a high degree of influence over our business and designs and are getting something made just for you in a vetted and ethical factory.
